Simon & Garfunkel
On July 8, 2004, Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel performed their last concert before leaving for the European leg of their tour. The American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas actually allowed still photos. The only drawback to the entire evening is that the Center did not open up until 1 hour before concert time. With 10 minutes to go the place was less than half full. But when Paul and Artie took the stage, it felt just like 1969 again. I have been to many, many concerts in my life. But discounting all of Jimmy Buffett's performances, you can count on the fingers of 1 hand the number I have been to that I knew every single word to every single song played all night long. What can you say about Paul Simon? He is one of the premiere song writers and performers of his generation. And Art Garfunkel still has The Voice, and he can still nail the high notes. If you missed them, I am sorry. You really missed out. I have just one piece of advice for you: next time, be there.
